Description
An original super rare envelope for The Beatles company Apple Electronics Ltd.. It bears the company name and an illustration of the early Apple logo in the top left corner on the front and the 34 Boston Place, London, N.W.1. address on the reverse which is where ‘Magic’ Alex Mardas was given his own laboratory. In a TV promo for Apple Corps which was included on The Beatles Anthology DVD, Mardas is shown wearing a white laboratory assistant’s coat in Apple Electronics saying, “Hello, I’m Alexis, from Apple Electronics. I would like to say ‘Hello’ to all my brothers around the world, and to all the girls around the world, and to all the electronic people around the world. That is Apple Electronics.” Mardas then turns and points back to a collection of two portable 2-track recorders in wooden boxes, a 2-track studio recording machine, voltage meters, a hi-fi amplifier, an oscilloscope, and a TV screen showing pulsating psychedelic balloon shapes.
The envelope measures 22.8cm x 10.2cm (9 inches x 4 inches). The condition is very good plus.
Provenance: from the estate of a previous employee of Apple Corps, David Godwin, who worked under Magic Alex in Boston Place.
