Description
An original extremely rare sheet of letterhead paper for The Beatles company Apple Music Ltd.. together with an accompanying envelope. The letterhead bears the company name, an illustration of the early Apple logo and the 94 Baker Street, London, W. 1 address. This was the address of The Beatles Apple boutique which was opened on 7th December 1967. From October 1967 until June 1968 The Beatles had offices above the shop which housed the first headquarters of Apple Music, the trading name of Apple Publishing Ltd. The company directors Clive Epstein, Neil Aspinall, Pete Shotton and Harry Pinsker are listed at the bottom of the letterhead.
In June 1963, The Beatles Ltd. was formed as a corporate entity to handle the group’s legal and business affairs. On the 17th November 1967 the company was renamed as Apple Music Ltd. and in January 1968 would again be renamed as Apple Corps Ltd.
The letterhead measures 20.8cm x 27cm (8.2 inches x 10.6 inches). There is a light crease to the sheet. The condition is very good. The envelope measures 45cm x 20cm (17.7 inches x 7.8 inches). The condition is excellent.
